- Tamil Nadu
Most students graduate able to pass an exam on a language and unable to work in a codebase. HackGRU exists to close that specific gap.
We run programmes with colleges and schools across Tamil Nadu — structured learning paths, competitive coding events, and internships where students work on live project code with real review. The internship track is the part that changes people: writing code that a senior engineer will read and comment on is a different discipline from writing code that only has to run once.
HackGRU is run by the same engineers who deliver client work, so what gets taught is what the industry is actually hiring for rather than what a syllabus was written around five years ago.
Programmes
Tech masterclasses
Short intensive sessions on the stacks students will actually be hired into — React, Node, Flutter, Python, cloud fundamentals.
Hackathons
Timed team events with a real brief and judging by working engineers. Best run in person, over one or two days.
Internships
Placements on live project work with code review, standups and release discipline. Usually remote with scheduled reviews.
Workshops
Half-day practical sessions on version control, debugging, testing and the working habits nobody teaches formally.
Placement preparation
Interview technique, portfolio review and the technical rounds students are most likely to fail.
Faculty development
Sessions for teaching staff on current tooling and industry practice.
What students say
“HackGRU really changed the way I look at learning new technologies. The sessions were interactive and practical, not just theory. I gained a lot of confidence with real-world projects.”
“I loved that HackGRU focused on practical knowledge rather than classroom learning. The workshops were engaging, and I collaborated with students from different streams.”
“Being from a tier-2 city, I never thought I would get this kind of exposure to advanced skills. HackGRU gave me the chance to work on live projects and improve my problem-solving.”
Questions we get asked
If yours is not here, ask us directly — we answer within a working day.
01 Who can join a HackGRU programme?
Programmes run with colleges and schools. Individual students join through their institution; institutions can approach us directly.
02 Are the programmes online or in person?
Both. Masterclasses run either way, hackathons work best in person, and internships are usually remote with scheduled reviews.
03 Do students work on real projects?
Yes. The internship track puts students on live project work with code review, which is the part that changes how they write software.
